The Simple Pleasure of Sisters

For the past few Thursdays, I've checked out Dayle's blog, A Collection of This and That, and enjoyed reading the entries on her linky party, Simple Pleasures.  Dayle says, "What I'm looking for here is a pure 'simple pleasure' theme". Well, my life, probably like yours, is pretty complicated, so the idea of blogging about a simple pleasure is appealing.

My Simple Pleasure is my sisters....always has been...always will be...
Andi...
"We know one another's faults, virtues, catastrophes, mortifications, triumphs, rivalries, desires, and how long we can each hang by our hands to a bar. We have been banded together under pack codes and tribal laws."  ~ Rose Macaulay

Joanne...
"To the outside world we all grow old. But not to brothers and sisters. We know each other as we always were. We know each other's hearts. We share private family jokes. We remember family feuds and secrets, family griefs and joys. We live outside the touch of time."  ~Clara Ortega

and Nancy, for whom this blog is named.

"Sisters are different. They heard the sobbing in the darkness. They lived through all your triumphs, all your favorites, all your loves and losses. They have no delusions. They lived with you too long. And so, when you achieve some victory, friends are delighted - but sisters hold your hands in silence and shine with happiness. For they know the cost."  ~Pam Brown

What is your Simple Pleasure?

Welcome to Simple Pleasures, Cheryl. You hit the mark perfectly with this post. It doesn't get any better than this. I often wonder how women go through life without a sister.

Thanks for linking up today. Hope to see you often.

Sniff......

How lucky you have been to have sisters....but then I think...although I have no sister of my blood I have so many sisters of the heart! I count you as one dear Cheryl!

Hugs,
Sue

I have only one brother but I have several sisters of the heart who certainly help me navigate my way through this world sometimes. God bless you and your sisters. No doubt Nancy is watching over you all and pleased with your remembrance of her. Blessings, Tammy

I love the truth in the quote "We live outside the touch of time."
Sisters give you the strength and support to know you can survive in the tough times because you have the peace in knowing that a sister is always there for you always regarless of your burps and warts. Cheryl and Joanne, thank you for helping me thrive and live a better life than I would have without you.
