Is There A Blog Party For This?

I love blog parties. I can spend hours hopping from one to another until my brain is so full of ideas it's about ready to pop. And it's fun to post on blog parties too ...especially when you've got something exciting to share.

But what about when you don't?

Have you ever worked on little projects all day only to sit down at your computer that evening to post Something Wonderful and realize that, as busy as you were, you didn't create anything party-worthy?

I love the bloggers who host the parties I join and appreciate how hard they work to keep their parties going each week. I really do. But the ones that I like the best have words in their titles like "Wow Me",  "Inspiration", "Metamorphosis",  "Vintage",  "Treasures" and "Transformation". Those are pretty intimidating powerful words. Sometimes, after a day like today, I feel good about all that I've accomplished, yet not one of the things I did seems to measure up to those words.

Leaving me nothing to blog about. So maybe I should just start my own blog party (if I ever find the time) about "NOTHING".  Jerry Seinfeld did pretty well with that idea, right?

I could dedicate my party to real women like me who can stay busy all day doing nothing inspirational, nothing transformational, nothing extraordinary...without one vintage treasure to show for it. Even women who accomplish nothing at all could join in. We could just compare notes about how tired we are from doing nothing. Hmmm...now I might be onto something!

Today would have been the perfect day for me to write the first post for my new blog party about "Nothing" because today I...

1. Finally sewed buttons on the clothes I haven't been able to wear because they had lost a button.
Reason for Blog Party Rejection: Not Inspirational.

2. Hemmed jeans. (Boy do I hate this job...put it off as long as I could.)
Reason for Blog Party Rejection:  Transformational...but missing the Wow factor.

3. Managed to find enough decent extension cords to light up most of the Halloween decorations.
Reason for Blog Party Rejection:  Electrifying but Not Creative

4. Learned to operate our new TV...while wearing 3D glasses!
Reason for Blog Party Rejection:  Definitely Not a Vintage Find

5. Made Tootsie-Roll Pops Into Spiders.
Reason for Blog Party Rejection: Idea Stolen from a...Blog Party!

Add to this some laundry, cleaning and and cutting out pumpkin noses (don't ask!) for my daughter's birthday party tomorrow and you get the idea....a busy day with not one inspirational, transformational, unique or vintage thing to show for it.

Haven't we all had days full of little accomplishments that aren't quite exciting enough to blog about?
So...who's in?  On the party each week I could even highlight the bloggers who accompished the least...or those really wild women who dared to go a whole week doing Absolutely Nothing. Ready to join me and start blogging about Nothing?

I bet we could have quite a party!

I'm in!

I love this post. You got pretty creative about doing "nothing" and that made me smile.

Today, I did some insignificant errands and sewed some stars. That, besides a shower, is about it! :)

This is so funny! And so true! Not everyday is a day of accomplishments, and that is a good thing!

Actually, you did accomplish something pretty amazing. I truly look forward to reading your posts. Whether you make me laugh or bring tears to my eyes, I can always relate to the subject on hand. AND it looks like you had a very productive day! When my husband loses a button on a shirt, he asks me if he should put it in the mending basket, or just save space and get rid of it now. :@ vickie

You can count me in! There are days and then...there are days. I'd say you got a few good things accomplished (live the sucker spiders!) even if they weren't blog party worthy. I've been so busy taking photos of our beautiful world that I have pretty well neglected doing any blog party worthy decorating, tablescaping, baking, makeing. I guess now that the leaves are pretty well gone and the garden is dead I'll have to get creative again in the house. I always enjoy your posts! Maybe next week you'll find a blog party to participate in. I'll join you. Blessings, Pamela

I seem to be having more days like this than I want to admit..must be the change in the weather...or not! Oh well, life will go on..or not! This is my kind of party..

Great post! I'm often so bummed when I realize that despite the amount of work I've been doing, there is nothing party worthy in the mix. I spent the afternoon watching the old Angel series on Netflix streaming that I totally missed when it was on originally. Surely not party worthy, but what a fun, campy way to de-stress after a crappy week.

Thanks for making my day by putting your post up on the party link!

Oh Cheryl, I'd fit right in with this party! I'm very good at doing...nothing! I've been a daydreamer all my life and I've perfected the "sitting with a cup of tea, staring out the window at the clouds and birds" type of day! In my eyes, you accomplished quite a bit today! Including visiting my blog and leaving a very sweet comment (thank you!) Love your blog, too!

Cute post. I love the tootsie roll spiders. You can post those even if it isn't your idea. Just mention who you copied.

I think this is a seriously brilliant idea! We need one of these parties for each day of the week! (Sorry, I was wowed here, and you are inspirational anyway!)

This is the BEST post I have read in a long time. I want to show something pretty, interesting...wow factor....but I fall short most of the time. So all your rejections...I have had them in my head also!!

I love this post. I'm right there with you. So far today, I've helped hubby unpack the car from our vacation, done 3 loads of laundry, and unpacked some of the stuff we brought in from the car. Now I'm catching up a little on blogs - but not blogging myself. I love the spider idea, too, and I didn't see it on another blog.

Oh, I know what you mean! After reading so many blogs and admiring all the lovely fall decorating, I had to take a break to go iron my kitchen tablecloth and get that selvage to lie down. I would stay and comment further, but I need to go clean a kitchen drawer, you know, the one where I slide my fingers in to arrange stuff so that I can open it. And if that is as satisfying as I hope it will be, I intend to sort through my pencils and toss out the ones with the dried-up erasers.

I love your idea, and you're funny as heck. But honestly if you started such a blog party, I'd be knocking myself out trying to not do anything so I could win at the doing-nothing blog party :) Your blog post here is the funniest, most honest, most relieving of my own anxieties, post I have ever read. I love it! And if you sure-enough have such a party, I'm in it! Even if it completely wears me out :)

This is hysterical, Cheryl! Wow, my vintage non-creative self she could see my self.

But hey, at Potpourri Friday you are definately at the right place! Thanks for linking up. You are appreciated here!

Hi Cheryl, that was so cute. I did lots of nothing today also and don't have anything to report on my blog, LOL I found and am now following you through My Romantic Home and will visit often. Please stop by my blog and perhaps you would like to follow me also. Have a wonderful day. Hugs, Chris
